Intact used condition pictorial front board and plain back board with green spine, good colours with some bumping and slight fraying to corners, some rubbing and signs of handling. In good condition, some staining to the front cover. Spine intact. 34 clean, slightly tanned pages of English text with black & white illustrations, plus frontispiece color plate. Inscribed on inside blank page pastedown “Presented to: – Marjorie Prichett, Feb 9th/20” with Levens Church stamp. Ownership plate not filled in and no other inscriptions. Some foxing and slight signs of handling to inside pages. Page ends slightly tanned with foxing. Image shown is of actual book for sale.

A nice children’s book from the 1920s with a beautiful cover of a girl holding arm arm full of red poppies being pushed in a wheelbarrow by a young boy. Illustrated end papers. There’s an pastedown “Presented to” inside. Lots of stories and poems, inside with many B&W illustrations, one full colour plate as shown. In good condition, some staining to the front cover.

A series of stories and poems about nature, fairies, and goblins for young children. With many lovely b/w drawings and a truly stunning color frontispiece of first story ‘The Poppy-Goblin’s Party’.
